Delica blade play

Hello, my delica has some up and down play when I hold the blade and move the handle, I am guessing within the notch of the lock, and it is normal for a lockback but my issue is I can feel movement when I make a cut into a harder material and it is really annoying. I have had other lockbacks in the past that have had play but I could never feel the play while using the knife. I was just wondering if everyone has the same issue with their delicas having play and feeling movement while cutting.

I appresiate any responses,

Thanks Ben

Not much you can do about it really. It seems to be common across the board with all the lock back models, from the Ladybuy to the Police and everything in between. Still good knife ;)

It won't effect the use of the knife, but I know it is irritating. Mine is the same way, it comes with use.

The one I gave my daughter.....is solid, and it was carried for years before I gave it to her...it just stayed in my pocket though.

only lockbacks with no play that I have are the original spyderco persians and any cold steel triad knife.

I only notice it when I'm applying a fair amount of downward force when cutting. The lockback bar and blade will both shift slightly. If just holding it in hand, I can't replicate it (at least not without applying more force than I'm willing to just yanking on the blade). I notice the same on all my Spyderco lockbacks. I just assumed it was one of the attributes of FRN-handled lockbacks. It doesn't seem to affect the performance or reliability of the knife though.
