Hmm...looks like, if these trainers are representative of the future upgraded Delica and Endura, then the real ones will have a higher hollow grind, recessed back lock release, and reinforced area around clip base...?

nice trainers! exactly what I'd expect from Spyderco. I've been making trainers out of slabs of aluminum and cocobolo for myself and training partners, but these weren't folding versions..

The real Delica and Endura will also have the reinforced recess for the clip and the Boye-style lock release. The blades will be pretty much the same as they are now, but with slightly stronger tips.

Jonas/Sal, thanks for the kind words

I'm currently in the middle of an AFCK (hey, it still has the spydie hole!) trainer, and do not have the luxury of tools more complicated than sandpaper and hacksaws. Maybe by next month it'll be ready. Have inspired my roommate to make a Starmate trainer though.

I think the Spyderco version will end up in a few people's stockings this year. Maybe you should add the James Keating Knifecraft videos to the package
