Well it has been a while since I posted here, but I have a knife on Delica G-10 on the way and wanted to get some of your opinions on the knife. I noticed on a knife thread in general that the Delica does not have a needle-tip point. Was the sharp tip on the Delica 3 series? Can someone post a picture of the differnce between the two?

Is the G-10 version much more heavy than the FRN? Which do you prefer for an EDC?

Thanks,
John

The G10 Delica/Endura were test runs or limited production runs as a test for the market. I have the G10 Endura and it's pretty awesome. The G10 and non integral liners make the knife feel completely different.
As far as I've been able to tell, the old blade tip design was changed because lots of people were snapping the first couple milimeters off their blades. The newer reinforced tip is really nice and does the same cutting and piercing overall. The change happened from Gen 3 to Gen 4, not necessarily between the latest FRn and G10 variations.

The G10 Delica is listed at 3.25oz vs the FRN at 2.3oz. Still a light knife and the G10 is a plus if you're a fan. I like the FRNs just fine but the stiffness of the G10 is nice too. Getting harder to find also.

Thanks guys for the replies. One reason I sold off my first Delica 4 FRN was because of the flex in the handles. I also did not care much for the saber ground (I think that what the blade grid was). I really like the FFG from Spyderco, and hope the G-10 Delica will feel as solid as the Military and Para-Military.

Thanks,
John

I like the FRN but yes, there is some flex. I had a "Franken-Deli" with the British Racing Green FRN yet a FFG blade. Should have kept that.

Hi,
Delica G10 foliage green FFG, Very solid knife plenty strong, great slicer great looking, more expensive and worth every penny to a Delica lover.
What more can I say, I have three of them!

Well i am hoping to have the G-10 Delica in about 2 hours or so. I sure am glad the mail man runs fairl early here :D .

For one reason or another, I never seem to be able to hang on to my Spyderco knives. I do miss my black blade Para military from when they first came out. Maybe this one will be the keeper.

Thanks guys for the replies and pictures.

John
