Delica Kahr question

This has been a week from Hell, and I have decided I earned a reward. The Delica fits the rough handle size I want in a doable price range, but I prefer wharncliffe points for some reason. I also like having a small enough blade that I don't have to worry about people's reactions, or I would never put down my Yojimbo 2. After carrying small blade/small handles knives for a while, I started shaping some Boker, CRKT, and Cold Steels into wharncliffe sub 3" blade/full size handle that I have been fairly happy with so far. So my question is this. BladeHQ has a Kahr on sale that would work fine for my neuroses as-is, or should I go with the Delica and take the time to shape the blade? I don't really see too much of a difference between the blade widths in the pictures, so unless there is something special about the normal Delica my tendency is just to pop for the Kahr and chortle on my merry way. The $11 price difference isn't that bad and the Machine Gods have it in for me right now, so I am loathe to pull out the tools lest they reach out and smite me. Anybody handled the Kahr?

Had one.. Sold it.. Just think the regular Delica was a better fit for me.. Could not warm up to the blade shape.. I do like the metal finish on the KD though!! JMO!! John

I have one in my pocket right now. Love it. Full Delica handle with blade big enough for most routine cutting chores and small enough not to raise too many eyebrows. And great blade shape for both utility and SD, deploys fast (for my hands anyway). You can always get a regular Delica if you want, but the Kahrs I don't see as often.

I really really like my kahr arms Delica. I have a khaki version and love the exclusive color and stone washing on the blade and pocket clip.

The blade length is so close to the regular Delica and the point is so strong with the saber grind that I think I may prefer it to the Delica 4. Ok maybe not that far.

Anyhow. Totally worth it for the cool factor, exclusivity, and usability.

As a matter of fact I think I may need a backup khaki so don't buy the last one.

I don't think the kahr has jimping on the thumb ramp, is this correct?

That is correct. There is no jimping on the knife.

That has to do with the Janich theory of gripping the handle tightly and not driving your thumb into the jimping which is jarring and can make you drop the knife with an impact blow.

This does not apply to me as I have no intention of using any knife I own as a defensive weapon. But I do not find that it effects function on a day to day basis, and during harder cuts does actually cause me to place more emphasis on grip strength.

I love everything about this Delica variation from the stonewash to the blade shape. The Kahr Delica is my most carried knife since my job often takes me to Chicago (2.5 limit). Its sabre grind isn't as good of a slicer as a ffg Delica, but I'm a fan of it on this model since it gives you a nice stout tip to work with.

Thanks to all for the input. I went ahead and ordered a Kahr in basic black, since the other colors were out at my usual site. It's all over but the waiting for the post and the awkward conversation as my wife reviews the credit card bill.

I bought one as a factory second in dk blue. Was just curious what it was all about so didn't want to pay full price (honestly they are overpriced for less blade IMO). But I actually like it quite a bit. Blade is definitely very usable for its size and seems stout. Definitely not as great a slicer as FFG Delica, but it's nice just for variation. It ended up going into my shop with an old Persistence as a tough work knife.
I may end up putting my own jimping on the thumb ramp.

Not the greatest photo of it, but only one handy:

I like mine, but rarely carry it. I got it because I have a Kahr pistol, and I love Spydercos. The blade on the Kahr is a bit thicker, and overall heavier due to the thickness and grind. The blade is barely shorter, more of an illusion.
