Hello Forum,

I'm looking for an EDC folder with the size and reliability characteristics similar to the Spyderco Delica, but only made in the USA.
It's not that I don't love the Delica or knives made in Japan. However, I made a decision to try and purchase more folders made
in the USA. Does anyone out there have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Frangouch

The Para 2 would definitely be a good choice albeit it is slightly more expensive but worth it.

The Kershaw Skyline is pretty close in that it has a very slim form, but fills the hand surprisingly well. It's also very light, and an excellent value. The steel isn't as nice, but the handle material does feel nicer.

The kershaw packrat is a nice knife it's heavier than the delica put its nice the leek or the skyline are very good choices two.

just look for the steel. VG10 is usually always from Japan because its a japanese steel. You need to give us a price range and your prefered uses and styles so we can better understand

I like the Bench made Mini Griptilian. Never mind. I love them. Made in the USA, and they have that new knife smell for a little more cash than a delica.

Native would be my pick for sure, the two I had circa 2004-2005 were great knives that had much better ergonomics than a folder that size usually has and held up fine with lots of use in Iraq including a tiny bit of throwing. I like it with serrations and think they fit it more than most other Spydies - push cut a lot of tough stuff for a long time and the tip makes a great awl.

Thanks for all the input. Price wise I'm looking to spend $60-70. I'd like a 2.5 to 3" blade. I have the full size Griptilian, never owed the mini.
I think they're a bit over my price range at $80-90.

I already own a Skyline the standard version. I like the knife and it is a great little knife.
It just lacks the right personality (that's right adding personification to the forum).

Spyderco Native 5. CPM S35VN.

Super smooth lock back design, classy and one of the best feeling in hand knives. It's gentle, yet built like a tank. It inspires confidence with the blade.

The simplicity and cutting acuity of the Spyderco UK PK gets my vote- the g10 or carbon fiber versions.
