Hi all,

I've "banned" myself from this site for more than a year in order not to be persuaded to buy any knifes. Even skipped BF from the Favourites-list.

To no avail as you can see... I'm warming myself up for a Delica mother-of-pearl. I don't have any Spyderco's yet, and thought this might make a more than decent introduction to the brand! No doubt lots of delica-owners around, but does anyone have the MOP-version?

Non-owners are equally entitled to make me go grab my Visa BTW. :D

Regards, Peter

I don't have one. I propose you go buy one and tell me how it is.:D

Hi Peter, welcome back. Not sure of what you mean by the MOP version?

Mother of Pearl? would have to be aftermarket, Santa Fe Stoneworks maybe?

Forumite Vess (vesscollectibles) also does very nice aftermarket work on Spydercos.

Sante Fe is correct. It's on the KC-site, as being In Stock. Unless someone else grabs it away first... :D

I also like the Lim. Ed. carbon-fiber version, on the same KC-page. Completely different look. I'll contemplate a little longer...

I've looked long and hard at the downloaded pics of both Delicas I mentioned earlier - and have opted for the limited edition carbon-fiber. It just looks more "right" and solid, and I very much like VG-10 steel, which the mother-of-pearl version doesn't have - couldn't find out the steel-type of the latter but if it's not mentioned in a knife's description, it's usually not much better than 440A. The less hefty price-tag was an added bonus. Let's hope Dutch Customs, once more, fail to pick this package for random contents-check! All went well so far... :D

Very much looking forward to it. You just don't have a knife-collection when there's no Spyderco in it - sure y'all will agree on that.

They're both nice. The one at KC has a far more complicated design and thus is a lot more expensive. I think I made the right decision choosing the carbon-fiber though. Thanks for the effort!
