Delica or Native III?

For me it would be the Delica. It has a thinner blade, the hump in the blade and the hole is more exposed. The Native is a great knife, but unfortunately never fit my hand very well, otherwise...

Depends on a few things. For me, because I only use a knife perhaps for 1% as much time as I carry it, and carry loose in a back pocket to boot, I'd lean towards the slimmer Delica, as it is more comfortable to sit on. If the use time to carry time ratio were to increase, then I'd consider the fantastic ergonomics of the Native III worth the extra thickness in the pocket and the slight increase in weight. Personally I'd do neither, I'd get the C41 Native instead almost as slim as the Delica, almost as ergonomic as the Native III. On the other hand, if you live in, or routinely visit, an area with a 3" blade limit then the Delica becomes the only safe choice.

i also have to side with the deica because it's slimmer... but the regular native is also a great choise

I'm going to have to agree with Dialex and IV. The feel and use of the delica works better for me than the Native III. Native is a good knife in its own right but never cared for the blade shape and the thick handle is too big to be comfortable. If I needed it for heavy duty or outdoor type duty i may change my mind though. Good luck.

I have both and like the Delica for my edc. It's a hard choice to make tho. :)

I prefer the Native III myself, but they are both great designs. The Native III offers a better grip, at least for most people, and I consider that well worth the slight additional thickness.

I used to have both a Native III and a Delica. I still have the Delica...

(not that I thought the Native III was a bad knife - it just didn't seem as useful as an EDC)

I also have an older Native I, which compared to the Native III, I think I like
better (i.e. I still have the Native I) :)

I have both and like both but the Native III wins everytime.

I think the grip is better and I like the flat blade-spine (no hump) because my thumb rests upon it more naturally.
The hump on the Delica makes my thumb point upward.

The choils afford me very exact blade control.
It's like having the Calypso Jr without the sharp cusp to deal with.

And the thicker handle seems much stronger than the relatively thinner Delica handle.

But both are great knives.

The really odd thing is that the Native used to feel awkward and uncomfortable in my hand--now it seems like it was made for my hand.
I can't explain it.

Good luck,
Allen.
