Would it be pretty close to call the Delica the poorman's Para 2? I havn't handled either.

Yeah, they are both folding knives, but pretty much different in most respects. Both are fine knives, but for different reasons, and at different price points.

They may be very different, but if you want a Spydie that comes close to the Para2 without the price tag, the Byrd Meadowlark 2 is well worth a look IMO. Yes it's a different lock style, but so what? Yes it's 8Cr13MoV instead of CPM S30V. Yes it's a little smaller. And while the Meadowlark 2 is certainly Delica-esque, it still makes me think of the Para 2, especially with that choil. To my mind it's one of the best value folders on the market. (Nothing wrong with the Delica either mind you)

Considering that Para 2's are very difficult to find now, and the ones you can find are priced $40 more than what they will be in the future when production cranks up, maybe go with the Delica now and cool your jets on the Para 2 until the market settles down. If I recall correctly, Mr. Sal and Spyderco are increasing production capacity, and when that happens presumably there will be enough Para 2's to feed the masses. Mr. Sal no doubt wants supply to catch up to demand as much as we do.

Thats a fine pic, Mr. Oz.

Endura maybe
But you'll enjoy Delica or Endura nonetheless :)

The only thing they have in common as knives are that they fold and have a hole in the blade.

I agree, not very similar. Different handles, steel, lock, blade shape, blade thickness, and price.

The Tenacious and siblings might be a little closer except they are liner lock and lesser material quality.
