Is it safe for a Delica to be carried deep in the pocket without a clip and not worry about the knife opening?

I no longer own a Delica but when I did I carried in pocket a lot, and never had an issue.

there truly little chance of it opening. It's not like it's an assisted flipper, the lockback blade usually have great retention.

Thanks, After I get my Manix 2 LW ready I think I'll get a Delica and retire my old Schrade pocket knife.

The detent on a Delica 4 should be strong enough that can't flip it open willingly, let alone in a pocket. Only way for it to open is if the hole somehow got snagged on something outside of the pocket.

Agree with the others, check the detent. Mine doesnt even fully open up until its about at the 10:00 position. Also, the tip is secure enough that it shouldnt snag and drag.

Yours could be different, but my blue FRN version is pretty hard to flick. You could always use velcro or something and wrap it thru the spyderhole, but IMO thats overkill.

Lock-backs don't open in your pocket unless they are junk gas-station knives. Most of the time even those will not. It's just how a lock-back works that makes it very unlikely.

When I say lock-back I am also speaking of mid-locks like the Delica.
