Delica question

Greetings, i received my first Delica ffg but was wondering if it's supposed to snap closed. My manix lightweight, and frn stretches all snap closed when nearing the handle. Also, it came absurdly gritty And tight but isnt really a concern for me as its easy to fix but worth noting. I have a meadowlark 2 beater that also doesnt snap closed compared with my other frn spydies either so im confused if my delicas ok. Its my first delica so i have nothing to base it on, it stays closed but doesnt have that snap like all my other spydies. Thanks for the help folks!

Both of my Delicas (Wave and ZDP FFG) snap close, but not with a lot of force. Still, they snap. My ZDP came gritty and tight too, but she's loosened up beautifully since then.

Hello,

Both my Endura and Delica snap closed. Loosen your pivot a little and maybe add a little lube. The gritty feel could be just some junk in the pivot. Blow it out with some compressed air and see if that helps. If it doesn't try this: Press the lock bar down all the way so its not rubbing the blade. If it doesn't feel gritty while the lock bar is completely off the blade then it should smooth out when it gets broken it. Took mine about 2 weeks or so. They are the two smoothest lock backs in my collection.

I ended up cleaning 'factory residue' with wd40 from the blade and washers from the new Delica and put it back together. I then tweaked the pivot screw and the screw closest to the pivot and loctited ending with zero play and NOW SNAPS CLOSED. Now buttery smooth with some bluelube, not even used yet. Thanks for getting me on the right track Socal and Leon! Im gonna enjoy my first Delica! That's only if my Stretch zdp lets me :indecisiveness:
