Delica Rust!

I was opening some bags of sidewalk salt today using my VG-10 Delica. An hour after opening the bags I ran the entire knife under some very hot water to wash any remaining salt off of the blade (when I opened the blade it wasn't just the chunks of salt, there was salt dust covering everything). I also made sure to run water through the inside of the handle as well. I let the knife air dry and, upon examination, the blade has what looks to be the start of rust forming in small dots across the blade. I'm now concerned that there could be some corrosion starting inside of the folder as well.

I'd like to remove the offending spots, as well as protect the knife inside and out from future corrosion.

What should I do?

Edited to add:

I took this excuse to buy another knife, my Pacific Salt is on the way....

The steel inside of the folder is far more rust resistant than the VG10 isn't it? Shouldn't be any real risk of that rusting from something like this.

Just wash the whole knife off with hot , soapy water then dry. Lube it up and go. Just make sure to get all the salt off. Covering it up with oil won't prevent rust. At this stage whatever oxidation is on the blade should easily wipe off.

Pacific Salt is a good idea. Stick with H1 steel if you are working with such corrosive material.
