Looking to get a new delica and considering a saber grind. Any experience or options? I have a orange ffg just wondering if the saber has a little extra tip strength?

Of course the saber has a thicker tip. Plenty of old threads where people were upset about the switch to FFG. I don't know if the tip strength matters much for a Delica though, I personally wouldn't use it for any task that compromised the blade like that.

I've been on a Delica binge lately and this has included a few saber grind models.

The Emerson opener and "all-black" model being a couple new favorites.

I haven't done a lot of stabbin' or nothin' with 'em yet, but the tips do seem to be much more robust than the FFG.

The tip on the sabre is thicker. Unlike the tip of the ffg which looks like if you blow cigar smoke on it, it will snap off.

The sabre is still a very good slicer though obviously not as good as the ffg. However you can get the Emerson wave if you’re going to go sabre.

I would love to see a saber ground SE Sprint with M390 and white FRN. Well, any steel, really. Maybe add the Emerson Wave!

On a Delica, I personally do not like a saber grind. I do not hate it. I simply prefer the better cutting characteristics of the full flat grind. However, if I were using it really hard, there might be good argument for the saber grind.
