Hey guys,

I just posted this 'cause I'm havin' this great week and feel like shoutin' it out! First of all here in Belgium spydeys are really hard to come by and I've always regretted that I didn't have the truly classic spydey: the Delica. But the prices here are so steep I didn't want to put down 109 euro for an aus-6 made delica, the only one I could find :-(. Not Only did I fing a VG-10 Delica today for 109 euro, still steep but normal here I just met this fantastic girl too !!! Ain't life great !

Oh yeah just to clarify things 'cause after reading my first post I didn't appear this way but I'm actually more happy about the girl then the knife.

The price of 109 euros does not sound so bad for a Spyderco in VG-10 in Europe. I see bigger price differences for US knives here in Germany.

The Spyderco might last longer in the long run, but the girlfriend will be alot more fun for now (let's hope!).

Just make sure that your new girlfriend doesn't run-off with your new knife!.:D.

Yes, those Delicas are great knives...I have 3 of 'em! (2 stainless and 1 FRN).:).

W T Beck:

not girlfriend yet but soon let's hope :) But youµre rights there is some stuff you just can't do with a knife, even a spyderco Delica has it's limitations

OK I just lost all sense now ! I just spoke to her on MSN and at some point I told her I wouldn't get mad at her even if she soacked my entire collection of spydeys in a bucket of salt water for a month ! I don't really think she understood the meaning of this completely but still... is this going to far ?

Yes sir, it is. You have some nice spyderco's there. On the other hand, maybe if she let you soak .... never mind. I'll leave that one alone. :)

she just said it's actually something a friend and fellow knifeknut told her to ask. Something like "ask him what he would do if you...." She actually has no idea about knives but she fakes interest in the cutest way :)

I have a VG-10 PE FRN Delica on the way. Maybe I'll get lucky with the girl I've been seeing alot when the Delica comes :D

The VG-10 Delica is my favorite knife, and my EDC. It is really a super design and you can't go wrong with it.

Congrats on the girl too!:) I don't have a girl friend right now myself... But I'm crazy about this girl, and it just so happens that we are bestfriends. Shes just great when it comes to knives too. Three great knife things dealing with her come to mind.
1. When my friend Jon criticized my knife hobby online to her, she argued how it really wasn't that bad of a hobby. :)
2. It doesn't matter where we are, but if she sees the clip of my knife on my pants she will always pull it out and start playing with it! Haha, it's the funniest thing. Two nights ago we went to the movies and as we where online she just decides to pull out my Native and play with it in front of the ticket lady. I think we got our tickets rather quickly too! :p
3. She constantly plays with my keychain Victorinox Classic. She wants us to get the engravable ones over the summer and put our hang out groups initials into them, so we all have our little badge of friendship. :D Now is this girl great or what? No wonder I like her so much! Haha.

Hope you and the girl do good together. Even if she doesn't go out with you right away don't give up. You never know if she will come around buddy.

What about ordering from a German online knife dealer?

I'd recommend Thomas Wahl. I know him in person and have ordered many knives from him, he's a great guy to deal with.
He offers stainless steel Delicas at 69 euros each (shipped), FRN models cost 2 euros less - but I guess you will have to pay up a bit to cover shipping costs to Belgium. However, that should still save you quite a lot money.
Tell him that Tim sent you.

If you don't speak any German, contact me and I'll see if I can arrange a deal for you.

And no, I'm not making money by referring anyone to Thomas, he just happens to be one of the best dealers out there.

The knife will last longer. :)

No *joke*. I met a fantastic girl a few weeks ago myself. Things were going great, we got along wonderfully, we had loads of fun together and were totally relaxed in each other's company...
and then she called it off, saying that she had things to work out and needed to be alone for a time. Said something about seeing a pattern of getting involved with a guy too soon after ending a long relationship. Too bad, too. It was gonna be great.

Enjoy your knife. Sounds like a good one. Enjoy the girl. Just don't get too attached.

WillyD, slow down and be cool, yet interested. You'll last longer. And in response to your question, defenseless animals are already dead. Or, tastes like chicken.

Nah jeffrey I got burned a couple of times myself too... nice and slow is the way :)
