Delica ZDP Serration question

So,

I just got a ZDP-189 Delica PS in British Racing Green

Compared to the regular Endura I also just picked up the serrations are definatly ground at a more acute angle then on the Endura. This would make sense to take better advantage of the properties of the ZDP.

I have several knives from Kershaw in ZDP and they make no change to the geometry. If Spyderco does I'm very impressed

I have consulted Miss Cleo and she said "buy the Para" :p

You will find that Spyderco's serrations can vary greatly as far as edge geometry is concerned. I have yet to determine whether it's by model, grind, steel, or origin of manufacture. I have only owned 3 fully serrated Spydies, however, they were all different.

Also there are several threads floating around about how the Endura 4 w/Emerson has the most aggressive serrations out of any production Spydie.

I was very impressed with the serrations on my E4W because they are so much less aggressive than the ones on my ATR.
That ATR almost turned me off serrations completely.

It may very well be a function of the Delica's blade being thinner than the Endura's and thus requiring a more acute looking grind. Comparing it to a VG-10 Delica might be better. But even then, if there was a difference, I'd guess it would depend more on who's running the grinder and the point in the stone's life cycle at which each knife was produced than on a conscious decision to grind them differently.

Wow, that looks wicked! Those are some seriously aggressive serrations!

Why would you want unaggressive serrations? The whole point of serrated edges is the aggressive nature of the teeth/edge.

Mose of my knives have very non-aggressive serrations: I call them plain edges :D

The tricky part of using those ultra-aggressive serrations is learning to keep your cutting strokes light enough to let the teeth work without digging in and snagging in the material. The teeth on the C54BMS Calypso don't look quite that aggressive, but that is only because the blade is thinner and flat-ground. Too much pressure and it snags. Light pressure and it cuts like a chainsaw.

I thought the point of serrated edging is to increase the edge surface area so that you get more cut per stroke compared to a PE, not to tear the hell out of whatever it is you're cutting.
