Delica's lock

I have a question for everyone out there. I carry a plain-edge Delica as my main knife everyday. I end up using it almost everyday at work, and if I don't, then I at least end up taking it out and just opening it and closing it just for the fun of it. I just picked it up today and it looks like the back of the lock is starting to come up. By that I mean when the knife is closed the lock used to lay flat (or a better way to put it would be to say that it was in line with the back spine of the knife), but now it is protruding above the spine of the knife. I know this because, while admiring the lines of the knife, I ran my finger down the spine and noted that it was such a smooth transition from the zytel to the lock. But now if I run my finger down the back of the knife (only when it is closed, when open the end of the lock lies flush) I catch it on the end of the lock. In case anyone is confused, I'm not talking about the end of the lock that contacts the blade, I'm talking about the part of the lock you depress to unlock the knife. I don't understand this, is this normal wear for the knife? I don't abuse this knife at all, I just use it for cutting tape and cardboard at work. The edge hasn't come up much, just enough that it scrapes my hand when I put my hand down in the pocket where my Delica is clipped. I've had this particular Delica for only about 8 months, so I don't understand why this is happening. If this IS normal wear then what can I expect in another 8 months? If anyone has an answer to this problem or any suggestions, please let me know, this knife is my favorite for daily carry and I don't want to give it up!

Flinx - There will generally be a certain amount of "settling" of the lock into the tang in a lockback. Usually it's a small amount.

Thanks for replying so quickly, Sal! I also appreciate you answering me on both forums. I posted on both to have the best bet of receiving an answer.

Thanks, again
