I cant be the only one who missed out on the Pony Jacks and Northwoods lately.

So who would like a little consolation prize?

"The first one to post a picture with a little history/story behind a delicate knife they own can choose one of these 2 pouches (I will keep the other)".

Dark brown or black you choose.

I am thinking a knife with historical or sentimental family ties that needs a bit of extra care.

Why delicate?

because these 2 slips which where made in France have a soft leather outer with a even softer velvety type inner, which will cosset delicate knife scales etc..

I got them some years ago on another of my bike road trips.

As you can see they are a good size for a 86 or a 2 blade trapper but a smaller knife would also fit.

I will post anywhere in the world.

Oooh oooh oooooohh!
Pick me pick me😁
This old William Rodgers icutmyway belonged to my Grandad Ken Brown...he was RAF groundcrew at Tangmere and Biggin Hill during the war...we were good mates and he taught me a lot...the coin also from him is a 1775 ha'penny...it predates the discovery of Australia by Cook and the American Civil War...2 items of my personal treasure.
Cheers Johnnythefox Johnnythefox .thanks for the chance...
PS due to current political conniving by our fat useless lump of a prime minister...Franco Aussie relations are at an all time low....so it would be nice to win something French...

Choose the colour you would like and send me your address please.

My dad was RAF and stationed at Tangmere when I was kid.

He was also attached to a Aussie squadron in Japan supporting troops in Korea when he first joined in the 1950s.
He also talked about the flying boats, hard to get him to talk about any of his service though.
He told me a lot of the pilots where from WW2,he was communications so on the ground but did go up with them a few times.
The Aussies had a different way of discipline and manners than the RAF as you would expect.
The story of how he got back to England was amazing, the RAF just told him to get back anyway he could.
So he hitched rides, got lost in the system, got diverted the wrong way, ended up in all sorts of out of the way posts it took him 2 months I think he said.

Oh and by the way the French fisherman have set sail your way to demand fishing rights on the great barrier reef,if not granted they will capture one of your ships.

I was unaware the French Fishing Fleet collected out of date hulks....which is what we have....New Zealand probably has better ships...cheers.I ll pm you.

I Posted it today the lady in the post office said up to 5 days.

From England to Australia more like 5 weeks I would expect.

A letter I sent from New Zealand to Romania spent over a year travelling the globe and then ended back with me in England.

This serpentine pen, with nacre covers, is probably my most delicate.

I found it one restless night. Instead of tossing and turning in bed and risk waking my wife, I got up and decided to go look at knives. I had always wanted a pearl covered knife, but the deciding factor for me was that the blade was stamped with my name. This knife was meant for me.

I don't carry it much, it's more of a Sunday Go-To-Meetin' knife, but so far this is the only one my daughter wants. She thinks it's "pretty."

Tell you what send me your address and you can have the brown one.
Then when you do give it to your daughter one day she will then have somewhere safe/nice to store it.

Its certainly a looker, any idea how old?
No idea, but when I first shared it someone thought it was post-WWII due to the tang stamp and lack of shield.

someone once asked me to send them a watch down under (ebay) I said OK as long as you will wait a while.
After a month he filed a claim I lost it all even when It was delivered 2 weeks later so it can take time.

The problem is that small lords in St Helier never understood England lost the 100 Years War and can no more raid on this side ... (understand : buy unexpensive beers and liquors by packs in Calais) 😂😂😂
