You get the notice, check your tracking, or have a video doorbell and know that your newest purchase is just delivered but you still have hours till you get to go home. The anticipation of getting home and getting your new purchase and the agony of knowing it is just sitting there on your doorstep. I have already been suffering this feeling for a few hours now so who else suffers from this affliction.

You have it too good. I have an amazing custom Bowie arriving at my place in another state. Meanwhile my work has banned travel. I'll be lucky to get to see it in April... could be longer.

Yeah, kinda dealing with this in a different way with Hinderer right now.:( I dont even know what Im getting in the mail at this point or if Im getting anything back at all.

If this helps, I work out of my home and I still wait for the UPS to ring my doorbell!

Ever hear the proverbial expression, "Boys will be boys."

I've even wonder if I should order a new folder as kind of a toy for my patience. Then again, if I have trouble waiting two weeks for a knife, how will I cope waiting six to eight weeks for this new delivery system?

I was at a job site 100 miles away and a acquaintance of mine called me to tell me he left some old swords and "stuff" on my doorstep. I knew of the stuff he was referring to because it was a couple antique Japanese swords and complete 1800's Officer's Epaulets set in the box I had been waiting on to clear holding so I could take possession. I find all sorts of cool things at my job but I have to wait until Im cleared to take them home.
This "stuff" had a potential value of 3-40 grand and it was now just sitting on my front porch waiting for anyone to come by and grab it. I was so angry and never drove home so fast.

A door step robber missed a great opportunity. The sabers look quite amazing... ("authentic" for sure (whatever period that means), because I can see the rust spots, and the brass fitting, the braided handle... all cool stuff). And to answer your question : I just stopped worrying... I order from whole Europe and sometimes my goodies arrive in 4 days , sometimes it's two whole weeks. I am no longer that stressed about delay but I am so happy that they arrive in good condition. Very happy !

What kind of job do you have where you find stuff like that?

Oh those aren't the actual items, I just used those photos for illustration purposes. The real items were every bit as amazing tho!

In a situation like this my therapist told me to take deep breaths. It will help to relieve anxiety. Concentrate on your work. It will make time move faster. Remember, this crisis will not kill you. You WILL be ok.

If you want to learn patience. Order a Randall knife. $50 down no communication for years then you finally get a letter that says sorry it will be 6 months later than we originally though. You send the rest of the money then months later with no notice a box shows up in your mailbox. You think “I didn’t order anything. What is this?” Rip it open and it’s your shiny new Randall.
