Finally, and I was later than promised, I got the Bruce Bump Ladder damascus knife back from the sheath maker - Jamie Briggs - (he was not the reason for the delay) I edged her and delivered her this evening. What a wonderful feeling it is to see a fellow pay so much and yet have stars in his eyes and a smile that melts you. I have no idea but I would guess my wages at about $1 per hour. No matter; I was paid in spades by his happiness. Nothing is finer to me than being able to deliver one in person. You can read the body language and know for sure whether you did well or not. They love to shave their arm hairs in the intiial test. I love seeing their arm hairs roll off in a ball as they do it. Sometimes money ain't all of what it's about.

RL (thanks again Bruce for a masterful piece of bar stock and Jamie Briggs made a great hand tooled sheath for the ladder damascus)

Absolutely is a great feeling to see the corners of their mouth roll up and their eyes get real big. Nothing better than for them to say, "Now can you make one with.......?"

He had every reason to be excited! You do some fine work (esp at $1 an hour :) )

I'm tickled with you that you got such a great response. Quite well earned.

Yes Sir, I bet he was happy! What customer wouldn't, getting one of Roger's Knives? The customer knows he is getting the very best money can buy. You are going to have a solid run on your S30V and your knives, Roger. Another thing that sets you apart is your HT skill. You have done a heck of a lot of R&D work for HT, for the benefit of everyone here, as well as your customers. At your own expense and labor, I should add. You good, Roger!
