Was a bit of a bummer when I called CRK to inquire about the status of my Sebenza order. Was told that due to severe backlog the delivery date would be pushed back probably to late July or August. Its so hard to be patient.

Yep, I can relate. The wait is a bummer. On the bright side, it's good to know that they are so busy. One reason for the back order situation is that they make sure that everything that goes out the door is up to spec. They don't just push product out the door in order to make more money. So while waiting is a drag, you can be confident that when you do get your knife it will be special and I'm 99.99% sure you will be very happy. So what did you order?

Cool. I've been thinking about getting one of those. On some of the pictures that I have seen it seems to be a very faint picture. But I have a feeling that they are really pretty in actuallity. I saw a better picture of it and thought it was a unique graphic but I was surpised it was a CGG model because it looked so nice. Post a pic! :) ;) :p

Gee this was the first time I tried to put a link in my post and it doesn't seem to work. The address is truenorthknives.com/tnk_1mainframe.htm. I don't know why the link doesn't work. I figured it out - I misspelled the url.

That's the picture! Very nice. I agree that if CRK would post better pictures of the CGG models there would be more interest. They also have one with a native American design that has a faint design but I have a feeling that that one is also really nice in person. I recently purchased fron Neil at True North Knives a large left hand CGG website (with the spider web and the dark round inlayed stone) in silver contrast. The pic at TNK is good but IMO it looks better in person.  ;) :p

Sorry your delivery has been delayed - bummer. I called CRK for a Damascus blade on a knife they were repairing. They are way backlogged on Damascus and the wait for a Damascus blade is one year! I am lookinf for a small, plain Sebenza with a ladder pattern or teardrop (bidseye) pattern. Nobody seems to have it.

Hi Scott. So another lefty huh? I took a look at the website - It's a great looking knife too. Congratulations.

Hi BoySetsThe Fire. Are you saying that you can send your knife in and have CRK put in a damascus blade in place of your regular blade? How much does it cost? I'd think about doing that, but a year wait huh? I wonder if you could like place the order and send your knife in when they need to work on it? Don't think I've ever seen the ladder or teardrop pattern.

I had a damascus blade put on one of my inlay Sebenzas.Yeah I think it took over a year and the cost was $150. You can call CRK to put in your order and they will contact you as to when to send your knife in so that you won't have to be without your knife for very long. And they also return the original blade so that you can interchange them if you like.

Only a year? I didn't know Devin got Damascus out the door that fast...

I hear you brother......I also have a MoonSong on order with them & I too was told that there is a delay now :(
I was told because of the war & stuff going on that the Military knives that come in or that are on order take priority over all. Sounds fair to me...but still is a drag. I (ha-ha...we'll just see) "should" see mine in mid-late June....I hope  .....my guess is that it will be pushed back a little more.
At least this way you get exactly what you want...though you grow old waiting for it to show up :grumpy:

Congrats on the new knife!

I want to buy a Lochsa, which has the one-piece handle. Scott Cook makes this knife. Scott used to grind all the blades at CRK. His Lochsa is like a Sebenza on steroids. The handle is made from one solid slab of titanium. There is only one screw at the pivot - that's it, plus the bushing and washers. It's a framelock, but because it's one piece, coins and keys won't ding the blade; the back is closed. Scott's backorder status is 1-1/2 years, but most say it is actually two years. That's for an S30V blade. He can also provide it in S90V - if you think you can sharpen that, or Damascus. I have found dealers that have the knife, only to learn that it sold out before the webmaster even got it on the site. Scott brings a few to the shows. I understand he will bring a couple to Atlanta. I also understand that they will sell out before he even makes it to his table. Yeah, I'm on a few waiting lists.

As far as the delay is concerned.....I called & talked to them again the other day & I was told that they will be making the Large Sebenza's in June :)
I "should" hopefully see mine in the first week or two in July. Man I hope it is worth all the wait ;)

I have no doubt, whatsoever, that it will be worth the wait and then some. Be sure to post some pics when you get it. ;)

:D No problem. I am anxious to see it in person. Most of the pictures that I have seen of the MoonSong didn't turn out to well. Hopefully mine will. Some people won't like it since I am having the serrations put on it. I use serrations for work, so I really need them. Well see....should only be another 30+ days until it gets here...I hope!
