Hi,
I'm looking at renewing my historical laptop (1998), I was thinking about a Dell bundle laptop + PDA. Is anybody around here familiar with the Dell PDA?

I don't have an Axim, but the word on them is very positive, as it is for the lower end iPaqs.

A while back I bought a used 3970 and I'm very happy with it, using it for navigation stuff as well as the usual calendar/address book things. For those purposes it's must faster and easier to set up and use than a laptop. Plus, storage media is pretty cheap and very transportable.

Of course getting used to using a stylus and the handwriting rec is a little work, but I'm using the pda as an quick input and reference device and will keep using a laptop for more intensive keyboarding and when I need a better display.

Next step for me is an SD 802.11b card--wireless handheld browsing :)

You might want to check out these fora, too--you'll get questions answered quickly, and these are just two of many:

They're a really good value compared to other brands. I got my wife the X5 a year ago, and I'm looking to replace my aging HP Jornada with an X3i.

Spyke, tks for the link! I just read a very interesting review.
Now, would some charitable soul tell me if the WiFi protocol is used in Europe as well?
