delta 1/2 hp bench grinder

I have a delta GR450 shopmaster 1/2hp bench grinder. I want to buy the 2x48 multitool 8" wheel attachment grinder. Is my grinder power enough for this attachment. I don't want to spend more on a 1hp motor, want to use what I have. I will use this attachment to hog off blade steel and shape, also for the handles etc. Rey

1/2hp isn't much for a belt grinder. You may be able to get by if you grind lightly.

I believe the minimum recommended is 3/4 hp for the 2x48" belt by the manufacturer of Multi-tool. I bought the 1hp Jet Grinder with my Multi-tool and it has lots of power to hog steel.
