I've been hearing that the Delta SA180 has been discontinued for a while now, but I keep seeing amazon and ACE Hardware stocking them. I was about ready to order one from ACE for $110 shipped to my local store but they aren't on the website anymore? Anybody know if they finally pulled the plug? Replacement model coming soon? Just out of stock?

I made my first knife not to long ago and the itch is coming back. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=595712

The Delta/PorterCable website no longer list the SA 180 belt/disc sander. So perhaps is has been discontinued and the retailers are moving that item out of inventory. Having said that, I received a flyer from Woodcraft listing the Delta SA 180 Belt/Disc Sander (Their item number is 821851.) at a regular price of $123.99 and sale priced at $110.99. This sale is confirmed on their website. Additionally, the local store has a special one day (Dec 6th) price of $99.89. This may be due to the store was recently relocated and expanded and they are trying to drive some traffic to the store.

Yeah, it's still on the Delta website, but people have been saying it's been discontinued as far back as 2002.

jorasco, thanks for the heads up. Woodcraft will have it on sale for 99.99 + free ground shipping!

If there are any Lowes Home Improvement stores near you, check them out. I bought two of them for $89 apiece. I use one for smaller pieces, and keep one in the basement for sanding the edges of sheaths
