Nope, I'm not planning on taking it on the plane. I'm simply looking for something more discrete than a gent's knife to add to what I would normally carry in a business environment - the aforementioned gent's knife.

So, have read in some other threads that people like them, and I read the write up in Tactical Knives. However, I would really be interested in any specifics from people who own them.

For example - is the blade ATS34 as 1sks says or is it 12C27 Sandvik as some other site say?

How is the fit and finish?

How secure is the lock?

Any thoughts on the thickness and grind of the blade?

How has it held up under use? Anything get loose, and such?

Thanks, Qwerty

maybe you got a different one, but for what the design is, it is definitely NOT thin, weak and flimsy. remember, this is a small knife in a small, round body. given the design limitations set by the goal of making a small and discreet knife, i personally am AMAZED at how stout the locking mechanism is. the lock is similar in design as a standard frame lock, but instead of the lock bar being 1/5 to 1/3 the 'width' of the blade, here it is the same width. the body itself is rather heave and also very solid. this along with the 5.5" closed length also make it a GREAT impromptu kubotan type impact weapon.

the blade itsels is a small (again, it must be housed in an assembly where the largest dimension other than length is 1/2". that said, the blade is relatively thick, and seems again, very solid and very well designed for the application. mine came flat ground and VERY sharp. i must say that all in all, i was VERY surprised at how sturdy, solid and strong this knife is. i would say, if you are interested, email Delta Z and see what Mr. Z. would say about you getting one to look at for a day or two (without really cutting or abusing it). they have also recently had a pprice drop to around $55 or so. all in all, i am very pleased with the one that i have, and i think it is a fantastic execution of a very neat and useful design.

I appreciate the feedback ...

St. James: you said weak, thin and flimsy. Can you give me some more details on that? :) What I mean is can you give me more of an example of what you mean, ie. "flimsier than my xxxx knife" or "cutting XXXX the lock came loose." Essentially something to give me some perspective. I mean, if you are comparing it to a Strider AR, probably most things would appear flimsy, :)

Vactor: Same note to you I guess. Can you give me some ideas of what you have used yours for and how it has performed? How would you compare it, in terms of construction to other knives in the price range?

Thanks,

Q
