Has anyone had one of the Delta Z liner locks in 440A stainless. I am getting a newbie a knife and these look like good deals at $30 a piece. I don't want to get him a very hard steel because he will have a harder time resharpening and I also want to get him something that won't rust as easily as ATS 34. Also thinking about the BM 550 plain edge but this might be a little large. If it came in a 3" blade I think it would be ideal for him. Thanks for the help.

I had one of the 3.5" blade liner locks with the clip point blade. I won my choice in a contest, and as a treat picked something I would normally not buy for myself. I got the Olive briar wood scales. The quality of the knife was great. Full steel liners, open back with steel spcers. Strong ball detent, very solid lockup, high quality all around. At the time it was selling for about $100. As it turns out, it was too nice for me - I like to carry my knives, and it was a tad too big and too nice for me to carry. The natural material handles have no clips. I should have gotten the aluminum handles, I would still have it today. Anyway, I later tried to sell it to no avail, and wound up trading it away for a Camillus Cyber CUDA, which I have no qualms about carrying. Good deal all around.

DeltaZ knives are distributors of the knives, which are made in Italy and sold under several brand names (Fox?). For some reason, they have yet to catch on with collectors/afficionados. If you are looking for a very well made knife to use or gift, the closeout prices are great deals on these knives.
