By now, you've all seen the Delta Z knife that is this month's door prize here at Blade Forums. You may also have noticed the banner ads for the Delta Z which have run for quite some time here.

It's not quite a balisiong, but somewhat similar. Has anyone tried one of these? Are there any manipulations possible with it?

before the deltaZ there was the predecessor that looked liek a buck knife but had a mechanism like the delta z. Basically a blade hidden behind two 'aluminum shells'.

A guy who was selling them in the east coast knife show called them butterfly knives. He manipulated them with just thumb swivelling. nothing fancy.

However conveivaly if you loosen the pin you can hold the end and move the knive in a curcular motion liek you were hanging up a clothes hanger. or maybe choke up very tight on one 'shell' and let the top swivel. This would be harder on the thinner frame of the delta z though. Just what I was thinking when i held that knife (not delta z but siimilar design) in the eccks.

I had one of the first ones when they came out. It's a neat design but because of the pressure of the locking liner and detents that secure the handle in the closed position I don't feel that there is any swing to be had.......
