This is a review I did a while ago about the stiletto -- great knife, I still carry it a lot, and I've since put a razor edge on it, no trouble at all.
I was very happy with this knife at the Blade Show (and it was a pleasure to talk to you guys, too). Please bring it on line ASAP!
The lock-up is fine, and the blade is not going to open on you with any care at all. I have a personal problem with knives that Wave or flipper open because I can't resist doing it! I mean, sometimes a more discreet opening is good policy ...
The photo is good, but you have to hold the knife to feel how solidly it's built. The blade is not just a stabber; it can do real cutting.
((any chance that there will be an automatic version, that would be very nice.. Solund.. ))
Time for an update ... Solund, I don't think they are going for an auto on this one, not from what they told us at Blade.
Now for the good news. You guys should check out the Delta Z site. They have the stiletto for sale now. (They also have the 360 pivot in silver for an incredible price. I just sent for one of each, and they got here in four days. Delta Z ships fast.)
This stiletto is nicer than I remember. Or maybe it's just that this one is mine, and I can carry it around and play with it.
The handle is heavy and solid, with thick aluminum slabs over steel liners, one of which forms the reliable lock. the liner is about half as thick as the blade! There is no cut-out on the handle to access the liner lock, instead the liner itself is rounded up about 1/16" I guess, and serrated for a better grip. Works fine. First rate clip, fairly low profile, smooth edges, but extremely strong.
By the way, all the edges on this knife are smooth, everything is rounded, nothing jabs or scratches, except the beautiful thumbstud and -- of course -- the cutting edge of the blade!
The blade will not open on you accidently, and you can adjust the tension with the hex key that comes with it. I keep mine pretty tight, for safety, but ... when I put my thumb on that stud and flick it forward, the blade opens fast, but also smoothly, and quietly, too.
Once more, a satisfied customer!
