Been lurking this forum on and off trying to figure out where to get my fix and become educated on this new addiction I have, knives.

After watching this place and one other, as well as the EDC forum it is clear now this is the place to hang with others clearly as or more addicted for much longer then I. Now I see there is no cure, only to spend more and more wisely with each new knife purchase.

Last nite I made the plunge and paid for Platinum membership, figuring the value is here and time to man up and support your board here as a paying member. The amount I have learned in past months has saved me more $ and is time well enjoyed.

I think I am now about 30 knives deep now with custom and auto adds to my collection. A steady flow of lights have developed too, but knives are the focus fueling this fever.

Recent adds made from research here include Protech TR4.1, Lone Wolf T2 ranger, AG Russell Acies, BM 940, and luckily made list on first production run HEST/F . I need to understand what forum sub alerts one of these builds in future?! I would have loved a DP version of HEST as my non user.

Outside of work and travel I spend a lot of time outdoors as a dedicated a sea kayaker/hiker many weeks/weekends throughout N.A. and knives have always been a part of my life since young, though never thought I would own a $300 plus one.

My prize of my collection, a Father/Son set of knives made for my grandfather by a Bedouin sheik as he negotiated land rights for AMCO to build the Arabian pipeline in early 1900's. The blades were folded many times and handles are of Ivory and Jade. They were given to him to honor the birth of my Dad, now given to me.

I also still have a old bone handle Case from 1920's which my Dad gave me which was his, mine and my son's scout knife. At 14 my son prefers knives now like his own Rat 1 on outings together requiring he have a knife.

My son will inherit many wonderful knives as a result of my time here learning and sharing your knowledge and advise.

Bottom line; Thanks I look forward to being a part of your community.
