I found a Vic, some time ago, in clamshell that had the name 'Deluxe Climber.' The model number is 56421. The knife is the same as the standard climber, but this version has pliers in addition to all the standard tools. I've been wanting another, but I've yet to see the model number, name or even a pic of the knife anywhere.

Does anyone know of any background about this model?
Is it now under some different name?
Anyone know where I may find another?

Any information is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I hope you're right but I have never heard of such a thing. I've only heard of the Deluxe Tinker, which is the same as a Climber but with a phillips in place of the corkscrew.

I haven't heard of it either. But never fear, UnknownVT will soon be here. He'll know the answer.

The store where the knife came from was forgotten. But, the idea of it being a special order makes sense, I've a couple Vic's that were special orders and they have the same difficulty in finding out their histories. Thanks for all the responses.

There is really a Deluxe Climber, essentially a Climber with pliers.

Forgot to add that apparently, it is a retired model. Wonder why, since this is one of the most practical tool combos ever.

My father-in-law has one, so, I've had the chance to take a good close look when "tuning" it for him. I agree with bama_lou, it's a very handy combination. I've looked everywhere I've seen SAKs for sale, and no luck. If you find any, buy at least two.

Buy the lot of them, bama lou's pic is only the second time I've ever seen another deluxe climber. I guess I got lucky, saw it at a store behind some other models and got it for the hell of it. Despite the internet and looking around in B/M stores, I've never seen another.

Thanks for all the replies. BF members have all the answers as usual.

I know this thread is 14 years old but I have one of these and have no recollection of where I got it. It's not all that useful to me so it sits in my nightstand drawer. Here's a photo from sakwiki.com that shows what they look like:
