I love my both Ener-G's. But I have to admit that the handle in G10 and Kraton sucks.
Will it have a deluxe version, with a better steel (s30v or composite) and handle ? why not a titanium framelock model?
I think It would be fantastic !

your feeling?

how do you mean sucks? i was never totally sold on the handle feeling or look, but once in the hand i can't get over the blade and the little one has always found its way into my pockets. i could love a composite version or perhaps SG2 which lends itself to slicing, as does blade shape of the ener-g's anyway. im not sure there is much money in the sprint runs of certain good selling knives, but i've committed myself to buying them as Kershaw and thomas are kind enough to allow us the privilege of buying them.

i ran myself around in circles, but basically, i still like the ener-g regardless of their handles, but i am always one for nice steels and good handles

i played with the Ener-g on saturday (dont worry, i will have a review of my saturday later). i liked it, alot. the handle didn't bother me much at all. the flipper was something else though. really interesting design there. i like it. would i high end one be nice? OF COURSE. but would i change it as is? nope. just my two cents. still would be cool lol

The ENER-G and ENER-G II are extremely unique. Because of the flipper design, a frame lock might not be possible. Thomas could answer this best. The knife does lend itself as a slicer, just as Slade mentioned. Until getting a Blur in SG2, it was the sharpest out of the box Kershaw I've seen. Some have had concerns about the texturing being a little rough on pocket material, but it's never been an issue to me. My SG2 Blur and ENER-G II get 95% of my pocket time. About the only thing I could ask for would be the addition of a ZDP, SG2 or composite blade, keeping the satin finish.

I love my Ener-G's!! Great ergos, love the blade shape, sharp as heck, but since I am one of "those guys" (Don Vito, was it really necessary to call me out like that??;)) who doesn't like how rough the trac-tec is, I was toying with the idea of getting an extra and doing some pimping:D I like the G-10 work that Rebeltf did on his groove and thought I could fashion some small G-10 slabs to go into the spot where the trac-tec is. If it comes to be, I'll get some pics up.

Cheers,
Jonny

Jonny, mio fratello ed amico fidato, I wasn't calling you out...only the others :D Months back, this same topic came up, and I had an idea...still haven't done it tho. It goes like this: remove the inserts, take them to a machine shop and have them cut out the pieces from very thin stainless. Then have them score a small area at both ends like the slide on a .45 (see my sig pic) on the non clip side, and just at the end farthest away from the pivot on the clip side. Finish them off to match the blade!

I like the ENRG2 A lot. The sharpest and best slicer from Kershaw. I would love to see this with a TI handle. I don't like big folder for EDC but would love this with TI handle for thinness.

The handle isn't very beautiful. It deserves something better ; something less cheap. And the trac-tec is a pocket eater...
of course the feeling in hand is great, and it is one of the best flipper I ever own, including customs from Hinderer and Korth, thanks to the kickstop from Lee Williams.
I already thought about to pimp it myself, with a nice wood, CF or polished G10... I really must buy some tools to do that :D

I like that idea a lot, Don Vito:thumbup: I just may get to work on that. A buddy of mine is a machinist and could do that pretty easily......I think.

Well, if you get them made, get 2 sets! I'll reenumerate accordingly!

gw, of you've never played with one, find one! Lee William's flipper is incredible, and it will fire as fast if not faster than most SpeedSafes. The blade design is pure slicer, and I've often referred to it as a pocket scalpel!

SPXTrader, you are absolutely right about the ENRG2 being a pocket scalpel. I think it is the best slicer of all my Kershaws. I would like to see more edges like this on Kershaw knives. All the Kershaw knives I have acquired ALL came very sharp but some of them had such thick shoulders it did not allow the knife to have full potential in cutting/slicing ability.

I've been thinking on what to do on my EnerGII's inserts , I dont care for them just because I'm odd. :D
The grey G10 I like a lot , the knife I like a lot ! The concept and design I like a lot but that grip tape stuff is teh cheese IMO.

What about a wood inlay , like something with some nice figure... ? Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

This is what modding is for. :D
