demagnitizer question

I picked up a demagnitizer from MSC a bit ago and it is fairly strong. Should I keep this away from other electronic equipment?

You just have to keep it away from magnetic storage media like floppy disks and cassettes. It can also mess up a tv or PC screen if it gets too close.

I made the mistake about a year ago by getting a 150 lbs magnet to hold steel while I flat ground it. Now my entire shop and all the tools have metal cuttings stuck to them. Part of the problem is I don't fire up the shop vac as much as I should.

Or next to your hard drive as it will erase it.
