Hi all, I’m a big Demko fan and bought 2 AD20.5 serrated sheepfoot knives last week. As everyone does with their new purchases, I got them out, gave a few flicks open and close to make sure the action was good and everything appeared to be fine. A few days later I got one out to start carrying and I placed my thumb on the jimping and pressed slightly to see how it felt in had only to have the lock give some and the blade move downward. This is significantly worse than the Chris Reeve “lock rock”., this is something wrong. This very well may be a one off problem but I wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem. I realize that mass production sometimes comes with potential one off mistakes. The second one I bought doesn’t this problem at all. I’m hoping the dealer I bought it from allows me to return it. I’ll post the video of the lock giving some and the blade dropping slightly.

Well if the CRK Sebenza 31 is the measure, that's some high quality right there

In a serious note, interested to hear if this is common or the norm too.

That is definitely not right, if the retailer won't take it back I'm sure the Demko's will make it right...you should message them on Instagram if you're on there.
Yeah, I’m one of the last remaining people on earth that doesn’t use Instagram. I’ll contact Demko if the dealer doesn’t accept the return.

Demko is all about a good solid lockup , so heck yeah ...it's an issue !

Return to seller if possible . Otherwise back to Demko to fix .

Send it back or find a stronger coil spring to replace the current one.

Have both the clip and sharksfoot. Only way I can get the blade to move like that is to slide the lock back a hair. Was thinking maybe there was some debris in yours keeping it from fully seating, but then noticed that the lock is actually sliding back as you push on the blade. Definitely an issue.

I'd say there's something wrong. Mine definitely doesn't do that. Can you see anything in the tang when the knife is closed?

I will say that my annoyance with the knife is that you're fighting the lock spring to almost 90 degrees, and if you don't push the blade far enough, it'll snap closed.

Definitely posting it too late, but what was your dealer's solution?
Or maybe you have emailed Demko?

Mine clip point is rock solid and I hope it won't happen to me.

Good luck John!
