What are the general thoughts on the USA made 3V version of the Freereign? I happened across it and it seems to be a pretty stout blade and I like the profile. Thinking about picking one up (or something along those lines if you have other suggestions- I am partial to carbon steel), but wanted others thoughts and opinions in general.

How’s the steel hold an edge? Ease of sharpening? Is the handle comfortable? How’s the sheath setup? General usability comments? And anything else a person can think of.

I have the aus 10 or whatever budget version. And I really like the knife.

That big wide blade with that big bevel makes it cut a lot nicer than the srk for example.

I have the USA Magnacut version and I really love it! It is just the right size and it feels great in the hand! I also like the sheath a lot! You can take it apart to clean and it is made of plastic where the blade edge may contact it but the outside edges are made of fiber reinforced nylon so drawing the knife won't destroy the edge over time!

I just came across it and looked but didn’t see much discussion, so I thought I would ask. Thanks for the insight. I might have to try one out and write a short review.

I did a short 4K detail video a few months ago on mine. I don't think Youtube links are allowed here but you can PM me if you wanna take a look. It's no review...just close ups set to music.

Hey thanks for the offer! It won’t let me PM you. I’m not sure about YT links, I’ve seen lots of videos linked in threads but I’m not sure what the rules and regulations are as I’ve not done it myself.

Oh yeah...I need to buy a membership soon! I am checking with Blues to see if YT links are go or no go!

Awesome will do! You can remove your email if you’d like, I’ll send you one here shortly. Thanks again!
Done! I will also say that I have a few other Demko's in 3V steel and they are awesome! I wouldn't hesitate to buy any Demko in 3V, 20CV or Magna!

cruwear too on usa made stuff.....even aus10 Taiwan made stuff. haven't had a bad steel through Demko yet.
Oh yeah! Definitely! I have Demko Cruwear and AUS10 as well and I have zero complaints! I don't think I have any in D2 but I would still buy it from Demko! The Demko Brothers do it up right even on the Taiwan blades! HRC's always seem good to go!

Thanks! That actually looks pretty good. I don’t know how I feel about the handle, but being full tang I’m sure it’s pretty stout. I think it might be a good time to give one a try.

The handle is very comfortable! It's not much of a looker but it does feel good in hand! I has just a little flex when you grip on it but it feels solid without a doubt! The handle is very similar to the handles on the Cold Steel SRK and Recon Tanto...

Gotcha. That makes sense. I have been looking recently for something in the 5” range and this looks like it checks boxes
