So, I would like CS to release a Thumb Plate addon kit that screws to the hole left when you unscrew the thumbstud to make any CS knife "waveable".... This was an atrocious sentence.

I think it a good option that would reinvigorate many CS knives. No more zip ties and/or.... nuts?

What dost thou thinkest?

I don't think that this is possible from a legal standpoint:

All it would do is open up a lawsuit from Emerson knives.

While it is legal for anyone to do it themselves as long as they aren't offering it as a service.

Is it not called the Demko thumb plate? Wheres the lawsuit on the AK-47, the Spartan, the Talwar, etc.?

I'd love to see thumb plates available and more models incorporating them. Don't think it would have anything to do with emerson. Totally different from the hook.

Exactly right it's different. Emerson getting upset about the thumb plate on Cold Steel knives would be like someone trying to argue that a thumbstud infringes on the concept of a thumb hole. One is integral to the blade, the other is an attached part. Even if the function is the same, the implementation is an important part of the intellectual property.

I want an AK47 curious to see how the thumbplate works. And I bought an OD green handled one!

I would like to see CS provide a small round thumb plate to install on my waveable knives that I EDC. Most of the knives with thumb plates can be easily "shaken" out. I don't like waving in shorts. I don't like waving in public. I don't get it. ;)

I can't imagine them working well. It is the sides of the thumb plate that makes a waveable like opening possible-not under the wave, like on an Emerson. It would be to cumbersome to be effective, if the plate were attached through the thumb holes.

There are examples of people making wave like attachments out of thin sheets of steel, and then attaching them under the thumb studs. I just don't see how a plate could be done without drilling and tapping the spine of the knife.

I'm thinking of something like this.

It could have a lower profile screw head, and maybe the wave part could flare out a bit wider, but that's the general idea.

If someone would make an after market add on Pocket snag, they would make a pile of money.

I would buy one for every knife i carry.
