A while back one of my fellow knife brethren here at BF posted a link to the Dempsey knives website, and since then I've seen several models of his that look interesting. If I save a little out of my paycheck for the next several months I think I could be able to afford either a D'broadhead or a BD Mod 1 sometime after Christmas. Does anyone have any experience dealing with Mr. Dempse and / or know what is backlog is like? If anyone could post a mini - review of his knives it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Myself I have a Dempsey TUK.... David will treat ya right :D

David is very easy to work with and a top-notch craftsman. It's folks like David and his family that make this hobby so much more than acquiring things sharp and pointy!! Give him a call, you won't regret it!

and believe me ... she ain't know safe queen... she got a few battle scars on her now.....

Thanks for all the responses so far,
Mr. Dempsey's website gives the impression that everything I've heard so far is right on, but it's hard to judge a person's personality/capabilities from their digi - presence. Thanks for the good info, hopefully in January I'll be back to tell y'all what I've decided to pick up.
Thanks.

David is a really great guy to deal with. He is someone who I'm proud to call a friend even though I first knew him from knife business. Honest person, very ethical and very friendly. It's really hard to find a better person.

His knives : I love 'em. His knives are strong, tough, and comfortable in my hand. I'm very happy with his knives. This guy will go far !

David Dempsey is a super guy and my email buddy. His knives are as good as any custom maker and he has many designs to choose from. He may have a slight back log at the moment but if you can get him away from that new telescope of his he might actually make you one hell of a knife!

I had lunch with David a few months back in Macon, GA. Of course I paid for the struggling knifemaker's lunch. But, I owe him more than that for his generosity.

Once you own a Dempsey knife you will always want more.
Of course I'm fond of that cool Mini Elephant Tusk model myself.;)

David Dempsey is without a doubt on hell of a knifemaker.I use his belt sort with s30v and the dlc coating every day 8 -12 hrs a day.It is simply a cutting machine. As far as a person, you would be hard pressed to find a better one.David stands behind his work 100%.Although his backlog is several months it is worth the wait.that guy is right about the telescope.
