Denix blades ...... ?

Some of you may remember that I am searching for a Hungarian blade (a sabre, to be precise) but I happened to find a historical replica of a Hungarian sword (circa 18th century) produced by a company known as "Denix". The cost of the blade was a mere $65.00.

Is this a company that manufactures quality items, or should I avoid dealing with them and continue to look elsewhere?

Metal-Demon,

It is with some regret I have to inform you that Denex produces purely decorator items. The blades are made of pweter or something similar. The last time I saw a Denix product it was in a souvenir store in Key West Florida, and that's where they belong.

Try Marto, Atlanta Cutlery, Museam Replicas, or Cas Iberia for entry level swords. They are still primarily wall hangers but at least they feature steel blades.

 
Thank-you Not2Sharp! I feared that might be the case ..... but I will heed your advice.

I'm not THAT interested in swords per se, but my search for a "Hungarian" blade seems to be more difficult than I had originally thought. Denix is the ONLY dealer that I have found so far that offered a Hungarian sword ......

I did a quick search on Yahoo for "Hungarian swords" which got me a lot of extraneous material. These two sites won't get you any actual swords, but you might find the URLs interesting for background.
