My old Scott receiver of 20 yrs finally gave up the ghost last week. It was a good faithful component. I just bought a Denon DRA-395 receiver and am pleased so far. I've read a lot of good reviews about this particular unit.

Anyone else own any Denon amps? How do you like them?

One thing that I've recently discovered is that amp powerage is rated differently by different companies. Kind of like the way lumens is measured by different flashlight companies. Therefore, Surefire's lumens seem brighter and cleaner than maybe Streamlight's lumens. The Denon is only 80w per channel, but it is the loudest and cleanest 80w per channel I've heard. It cranks.

I own a Denon 2700 which is few years old. Works great and have had no problems.

I'm in the process of setting up a home theater and will be upgrading to a Denon 3805. From all I've read and with dealers recommending it the 3805 seems to be the way to go.

The only reason I'm changing is that the 2700 doesn't decode DTS.
