I need some help here.

I have a blade that needs some serious work. I don't have a grinding wheel, or electric anything.
What I do have is a 220 DMT plate and various Japanese water stones from 500 to 8k.
I also have an edge pro apex with Shapton stones. Same gradation.

How do I get the dents out?

I am open to any and all suggestions. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1398827203.289520.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1398827211.694422.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1398827220.224315.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1398827227.300808.jpg

A friend tried sabering a bottle of Champaign with this Wustoff...twice!

I'm no expert, but usually I try to straighten them out the best I can using a steel. Then I just sharpen the knife again(grinding out the parts I can't get straight)

1. Hammer the dents as flat & center as best you can. if you don't have an anvil, substitute with a 2nd hammer face.
2. Use DMT 220 to file (yes, perpendicular / 90* to edge) until the edge is one continuous line from tip to past to dents in belly area.
3. Use 220 set new bevel for the affected edge area.
4. Sharpen the whole knife start with 500 ws.
5. No more champagne for your friend.

Thanks! Awesome.

Use a mill bastard file and file them out, then resharpen.
