Got a problem I need help with!
The left side of my jaw bone hurts near the back three molars. :barf: None of the three molars have ever hurt one bit. :D The jaw area was swollen up pretty good and my throat and the roof of my mouth hurt when I swallow. :grumpy: I can see a regular doc for free so I did, the military and the V.A. don't do dental care for disabled vets unless it's part of your specific disability, and he said I didn't have an infection. He put me on 800mg motrin :p till payday when I go to the dentist. :foot: Anyway, after all that bunch of jabberjaw...............what does this sound like it might be?
Thanks people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Do you still have your wisdom teeth?

Sometimes, with intact wisdom teeth, they'll shift and place prerssure on the molars.

Sounds like a root canal job commin up. Make room in the credit card for the dental bill, and have plenty of scotch on hand for after the dentist visit.

Yup, got all my wisdom teeth. The one on the bum side sits real low in the gum. I wouldn't mind havin it yanked it at all! Been tempted to look up a dental tool supplier online and buy a set of those pliers they pull teeth with and give it a try.

Bufford, they can just pull the tooth, lol, I aint havin a root canal! Just about everyone I know that's had that done has ended up gettin it redone or gettin the tooth pulled anyway.

Root canals are a breeze now days. Had one about a year ago and it wasn't much worse than having a tooth filled.

Friend, listen to Mick R.!!

My wife, never the most physically brave (morally -- that's another question) woman, had ZERO problems with two recent root canals. Smooth, easy, a minimum of powerful painkillers.

It's not so bad anymore.

And please get to that dentist. Those nerves near your teeth are altogether too close to your brain to be ignored!

Not quite true. Lets see, the upper left molar had a root canal done back in the 1970's. 2 years ago I had to have one side of it repaired.

The lower right molar had a root canal done in about 1975, and had a gold crown installed. No problems with that one at all, just compliments from all the dentists.

The upper right molar was done 8 years ago, a pain full ordeal. However, again good work and no problems.

Lastly the bad one. The lower left molar. The root canal work went easy 2years ago, but it has cracked twice since then. No pain though.

There is nothing like keeping your original teeth. It is worth the pain, tortcher and $S. Despite this I still fear and hate going to the dentist.

I had something not unsimilar earlier this year. We were getting ready to crown the tooth when the side of my gum opened and piece of bone came out! A piece of my jaw just came out! They suspect that it was chipped off when I had wisdom teath removed twenty years ago and has just now decided to work its way out. There's actually a fancy name for this which I've forgotten. My dentist said that it's very rare. Maybe, just maybe, you might have something like that going on.
