Lets say your about to be deployed as infantry, What Blade(s) would you take with you?

Or if you actually Have gone into the military (alot of you have) what blades DID you take?

I'd take three.

Becker (Camillus-made) BK-7, with a Victorinox Huntsman in the sheath side-pouch; fully serrated Spyderco Endura clipped to my right pocket.

If I were to be deployed and could take my knives I would take:
A good fixed blade for the heavy tasks a folder can't handle.
A good plain edge folder - Probably a Spyderco Paramilitary 2 or Strider SNG.
A good serrated folder - for thick rope and other materials that way I have my plain edge for stuff it would excel at and hopefully the plain blade will hold its edge a little longer with uses being shared between the two.
And a good Multi-Tool for when more than a blade will come in handy.

well, my about to be deployed as infantry would take a smatchet.

I'd carry a full size leatherman and MAYBE a small neck knife. Anything more is fairly useless for most uses you'd have for it, and something like an SNG has a very high chance of being stolen, as I think a lot of military types will tell you.

For a fixed blade i carried a Spartan Nyx on my FLC, and for folding knives, I felt a framelock with free-through pillar construction was best, as all sorts of gunk and dirt finds it's way into fancier locks. Even though I carried a Millie and a horseman.

How are you going to reach that necker underneath all that gear you'd be wearing such as body armor plate carrier?

KISS, buy a Benchmade from the PX and get a multitool issued and be done with it. You'd be better off humping extra ammo and batteries.
