I'm quite fond of the BK7, but it never felt "perfect" to me. I didn't like how the sharp transition to the clip point would eat my batons, and I've never had much love for a thumb ramp. After going through a few de-ramping threads, I decided it was time. Both have been taken care of now:

Nobody tells you that if you remove all the jimping you'll have a low spot where it used to be. I suppose one could grind the whole spine flat. I've seen others redo the jimping. Me - I just left it.
I'll have to take it out and give it a workout, but so far I'm feelin' the love now.

Good job - I did the same to mine. That ramp is my only complaint on the whole knife.

The 7 just feels better without the ramp. You don't take much metal away, but the balance does shift.

I keep mine strapped to my pack.

Thanks guys.
Wasn't nearly as hard as I was fearing. And it never even got too hot to touch.
Does it look longer now?

Nice work. I'm seriously thinking about deramping my 9. I like the ramp okay, but I think it would go better with my leather sheath, etc.

No thumbramp and no pommel is the way to go!

Never tried a no pommel becker before but i'm seriously considering modding the profile of my 7 much like you did tjs. Those burlap hands look pretty great.

Thanks.
Those do feel nice in hand.
They were pretty fun, though rather time consuming, to make.
I've got a short WIP thread on it around here somewhere.
