My current dress carry knife - A Des Horn “Thiers” (tee-air) folder. The design is a modern interpretation of a traditional French clasp pattern. It’s 8 7/8” OAL and only weighs 3 1/3 ounces while still feeling strong and solid. It has mastodon ivory scales, thick Ti liners, and nicely machined anodized Ti bolsters that seem to chance color as the knife is moved around (a Horn trademark). The hollow ground blade is HP Odin’s Eye Damasteel with very good edge geometry and heat treat. The way the blade is deployed is great; kinda like lightly flicking a lighter. No snap is needed. You just roll your thumb over the ramp which doubles as a serrated thumb rest when open. It’s completely ambidextrous with no thumb studs to clutter up the flowing lines. The slightly arched handle feels great in the hand and the lock is 100% solid.

Great knife. I really like that opening method, and I'm a sucker for knives that combine something modern, like textured Titanium, with something old, like mastadon ivory, and damascus is always a plus

Rick, looks like a great knife! I have always admired Des Horn's work. Thanks for sharing pictures and description. You have yourself a nice one.

Rick you lucky SOB. I have wanted a Des Horn Ball Release folder for awhile now, and when I can save the money up I will have one. Love that knife of yours, I am sure you are very proud of it.

MAMA!! Fabulous knife! I only wish I could afford Des' work. Until I can will just have to drool from afar!

Thanks for showing us.

Thanks for the comments guys. I ran across another, more elaborate (and expensive) Des Horn Thiers, if anyone is looking for one. These knives are hard to come by. I've personally only seen two for sale in the last five+ years (maybe I need to get out more).
