HI,
just had this idea: since the BA 3 and other models will be discontinued, it would be more than justified to have a little special edition models, for example a Desert BA 3.
What do y'all think????

I'm actually a little confused on this one. Originally, Jerry's post about the upcoming Annie Badger made it sound like there were two options. One being an LE type with the custom shop logo and a serial number and one with "tactical" finish which I took to mean a bead blast... similar to the AD tactical finish.

Then, during the Beer Chat, his comments sounded more like they were going to be a satin and a Desert coated version.

Someone needs to investigate this....

Here are the two quotes on the ABA...

From the "original" post:
There will be two versions of the "ANOREXIC BADGER" available. A Serial Numbered Satin Finished model and a Laser Engraved Desert Artillery Tan Tactical Grade version. Many "Sterile" Desert Anorexic Badgers have already been deployed.

From the Beer Chat post:
There will be two versions of it. . . Satin and Desert tan. . .

After rereading both of them, side by side, it does appear that there will be a satin and a desert coat model with a serial number. For some reason I thought something a little different.

No matter. I'm getting one anyway.:D Now... which one? Decisions, decisions...

Good things come to those who wait, I suppose!
Ok, so here are the important questions nobody seems to be asking:
a) How much will these skinny bad boys run for?
b) Will the Desert tan model also have a zero edge?
c) Because of thickness and edge design, how much of a heavy user/work knife can these things still be (compared to original thickness BA)?
Thanks!

JV,

Price has not been stated yet but Jerry has implied that they will not be in the astronomical range. Since a part of what makes it "Anorexic" is the zero edge... my guess is that yes, both will have the same grind. And, from what Jerry said, they will be .015" stock. Therefore, IMO, great knives, great slicers, not the heavy duty workhorse that the other Badgers are. Nice EDC for the well dressed man about town... :D

If I am not mistaken, the zero edge is only possible on the satin finished models because of the way the edge is actually made. If you look at the Tac Mofos you would see that they have more of a symmetrical convex edge rather than a zero edge. Still sharp as hell! I think that since the blade is coated a edge more like the Tac Mofos is what you will get on a desert coated model.

PG may be correct. I have never owned a Busse with a zero edge. maybe that was a faulty assumption on my part.

...and wait, and wait... but only about...all together now!!! "about 2 weeks..."

This will make an excellent camp knife, good for food prep to whittling, to skinning, etc.
For a "heavy duty workhorse" I'd use a NO or SH...
