Just got a Desert HD in today to supplement my DE+DD set and figured I'd post about it. After years of wanting and waiting for an Active Duty Jerry introduced a stouter production combat grade. But after missing the sale, as is my habit, I had to wait another short while... But a HD in Okuden Kydex can't be beat for EDC in the bad places.
This is everything I wanted in a pocket/belt carry edc knife. In the big leagues a folding size knife is great, but you want it in a fixed blade. This is The One!!! at least for me anyway. Rock on! This one is getting zip-tied to my ballistic vest or safariland 6004 if I'm ever back in harm's way... Until then I'm sure I'll find several hundred uses for it.

I know it will serve you well, as you will also.

Sounds like an awesome combo!!!! Congrats HOG!!!

I have a Desert Ergo set (BM, SH, & NO), and a Desert Defender, and now a Desert Heavy Duty.
I carried the Battle Mistress in a med/assault pack and the Desert Defender attached to the molle straps on my vest.
Thus far the SH and NO have only seen duty in my range bags, as the BM and DD had me pretty well covered over there...
Pics will have to be a weekend project, as I'm now back to being a full time student.

Just noticed I"m in trouble: Jerry's made my HOG status official. I should have known this day would come. Soon I may even make the dreaded "Wife knows he's a Hog" status. Oh well, I suppose it's a burden a guy could get used to.

Ok, let's see if this works.
Here's the vest and DD, with the DE-NO down below. Usually I just relied on my BM in my med/assault pack, so the NO didn't see much...

BTW, I didn't carry them all at once...

I used to have two pouches on the front, but I figured someone would try to draw some nipples on with a sharpie pen...
I kept some "M-80"s and a GPS in there, along with other mission dependent tidbits... my medical stuff was all in another SOP dictated pouch.
That's actually important: SOPs for pouch locations/standardized gear may be for legs and geeks (a common opinion), but WHERE your MED kit goes absolutely MUST be SOP. If your buddie's hurt you gotta know where his quickclot and tampax is, otherwise you end up using your own, and that's just a NO-GO.
