If it is a full tang fixed blade, it is fairly straightforward. Easily a home project that most would be able to knock out in a weekend or two.

- Buy your pin stock and epoxy (I use west systems toughened epoxy)
- Remove old handles (hammer and a razor blade and "baton" through the pin if need be)
- a c-clamp, some sand paper and a 1" wooden dowel and soke sand paper are about all you need.

- Epoxy your slabs on, wipe off excess that is pressed out with a Q-Tip dipped in acetone, let them sit for 24 hrs.
- file the bulk off, then sand to shape, and polish to suit your preferences.
- admire your "new" knife.

Here are two Beckers, a BK16 and BK11 that I did.

Nice work! I'm looking for it on folders.
Thanks.

So long as it has liners that aren't recessed (a Manix 2 for example), it should also be fairly easy. You would be served well by having a quality drill press though.

NJBillK, thanks for all the information. I'm Disabled & can't do the fitting; I need a completely finished product.

Gunfixrjoe, I'll email you. Thanks

I do quite a bit of work with ironwood and other woods too.
