It's not much bigger than the S5

Thanks again Brendan for helping me acquire some of my grails! Old school Rats are AWESOME!!! I can't wait to get these knives dirty!

I love the look and style of the desert jack but it's in the strange no mans land between 7 inch knives and 4 or 5 inchers that I have a hard time finding much of a use for... Maybe I'm just weird... :)

I feel the same way for most knives of this size, but the DJ handles like a smaller knife. It only weighs 10 ounces 5" of edge length and the design allows me to choke way up. When I have time I want to test it against the S5 and see how they compare in use.

On another note, I decided to strip my Ratweiler today. I was hoping it would turn blue as I've seen some do in old threads. Well it did turn a light blue after cleaning the stripper off, but after I oiled it, it turned a charcoal gray. I'm wondering if it has to do with the kind of patina the paint stripper residue puts on the blade, so I'm considering trying again to get it blue, although it looks pretty sweet as it is right now. Either way, I'll see if I can get some pics up tomorrow...
