I Finally Recieved My Long Awaited First Busse. The Workmanship Is Awesome. I Am However Disappointed In Myself For Lack Of Knowledge In Buying This Model. My Hands Are Large And The Handle Is Too Thin For Comfort. I Have A Mission Mpk10 In A2 And That Has A Large Handle That Is Comfortable To Heavier Tasks.

Please Help Me On This Problem. Would An Outlaw Have A " Thicker " Handle ? Secondly, All You Busse Owners Let Me Know If The Infi Steel Is That Superior To A2 Steel.

Thanks For Any Help.

The problem with the SJTAC (which was remedied on the BATAC) is the area where your index finger goes is too thin. MUCH thicker (at least to feel) on a BATAC.

Fiddle with that SJTAC in your hand and you'll feel like an extra in a Steven Seagal movie. ;) It is very different from a regular Fusion or E-series handle.

What can help is scoring a SJTACLE (also called a HOGSJTACLE). Thicker stock means the handle feels thicker in the hand.

A SF handle (SFNO/Hell Razor/Mud Razor) handle will definitely feel thickerer. I prefer std, not mag, handles on the SF handle. They are too bumpy on the mags for me.

INFI > A2. Let me put it to you this way: Jerry used to work in A2. He works in INFI now. It would likely be easier for him and cheaper for us if he stayed in A2. Yet he switched and virtually no one complained. ;)

As for INFI vs A2... I like A2, but it just doesn't compare to INFI. This stuff is unbreakable with normal everyday abuse. I had my Black tie Warden out at Scout camp with my Son, and let them beat on it. One of the dad's asked if I was worried they'd break it... I told them I would be happy if they broke it, but doubted they could. They did everything from split wood to carved Dutch over cobbler with it... not so much as a scratch. Just incredible!

EAGLE, where do you live? You need to try and hook up with some other folks to hold/handle/fondle some different knives. Or you can do what Tyrkon Lawson does...get one, try it out, sell it/trade it, repeat; until you find the ONE.

I Know After Handling It That This Design Is A Great Fighter. I Don't Think In My Opinion That It Would Make A Good Survival/camp Knife. I Think I May Sell This And Look For An Outlaw.

If a slightly smaller blade would do, I'm just guessing several BATACLEs will show up on the Exchange in a few weeks when they ship from the shop.

And Skunk will likely have some interesting offers as well...

I agree. I think a Badger (BATAC) would fit your needs, and be a lot easier to find than an NO. Having said that though the SFNO is my favorite Busse:D

If you have large hands then you may want to give the Ergo handles a try. A Natural Outlaw E is not too hard to find. See if you can find someone near you that has a E handle for you to try out. Or you can always just buy one first and try it out. I am sure that you can always sell it back for very close to what you paid for it.

A2 is definately one of the better steels out there. But INFI has it beat in toughness, edge retention, and corrosion resistance. CPM3V is suppose to be a tougher version of A2 but I think INFI also has that beat in toughness and corrosion resistance.

I have fairly small hands and did not like the BATAC handles. They felt too thin for my tastes. I have the LE ordered and hope I fair better there but we shall see. Sounds like you might like something with a magnum scales on it.

If your going to get rid of it. Shoot me an email and pic. ;)

I'm interested.

EAGLE1028: (1) Post a trade thread and see what pops up. (2) Sell it, with proper membership, and buy something else. As Resinguy stated, I have bought and sold plenty of knives in my search for the few that I really want to keep. I like them all but need to limit myself to 5 or less. :( At least for now. And the great part about INFI is it holds its value when you resell it. Even used ones. Great deal either way. (3) As mentioned, try to get together with others in your area and that way you can handle some INFI to help you decide.

Good luck! :)
