Does anyone on this forum have any of the old Camillus desert tan line of Becker knives? I always thought they were so cool and they're so hard to find these days (essentially impossible in Australia). Anyone think there'd be enough interest if Kabar were to do a limited production run? Would also like to see some photos if anyone's got any. :D

Nifty collectors' items, never seen one in person.
I don't think there's anything mystical about the paint color on a production knife.
Pretty easy to refinish a blade, if you're so inclined, including with fancier coatings.

I have a tan 9, it was the first Becker I ever bought. I live in a desert, and the UV is just punishing--when I was remodeling my house, I put my lunch in a baggie on the sidewalk, and it would be cooked by lunchtime. Any tool left in the sun or just exposed to it for a few minutes gets cruelly hot, but the tan handle and tang don't get warm enough to cause burns. This is an old pic, but the knife hasn't changed much

Cool Ass Boar spear

I had a bk77 for a few years . The tan had a pinkish tone to it which really didn't bother me all that much. I brought it up to Ethan and he said " yep, titty pink" , I guess he never liked the color.
I dont remember why i moved it along, wish I still had it.
The handles were cool.
