So this thread is just for us knife guys to basically sit and think about what tweaks we could make to a production or custom knife to make it perfect for what we want. Mine would be take a kershaw 1745 Ener-G2, give it a composite 14C28N/S35VN blade, a stonewash finish, and some black and blue linen micarta handle scales. I would easily pay 130-150 dollars for an Ener-G2 like that. I will always regret not buying an original Kershaw Volt with the M390 composite blade and titanium frame lock

I want to see a ZT OTF auto.

Para 2, no choil (leave the handle as is but grind the edge to the handle instead of having that part of the choil), linen micarta handles, get rid of the lanyard hole and round the handle where the lanyard hole is now, strengthen the detent, drop the max blade thickness at least 1mm...and let's say CPM M4 blade :D

Kershaw volt ss but with full flat ground m390 blade and full ti cnc milled integral framelock..........lol like that's ever gonna happen.

Take a Paramilitary 2, cover the hole and add thumb studs. Phasers on stun, please, I was just joking, Spydie fans.

To me, the perfect knife would be a Hinderer XM-18 with Ti scale and a SS damascus blade. That is my dream knife: gorgeous, and functional.

Gareth Bull did it. His Shamwari in all-Ti with SM-100 or M390, although the blade material is just a detail.
Peter Rassenti also just drew up a design that is also just as sweet, although an entirely different concept. He calls it the Dung Beetle or 'S**t Bug'.

Going to have to agree with you on the Shamwari.

Spyderco SPOT/SWICK style knife with micarta overlays and 2.5" wharncliffe blade.

4.25" Spyderco Street Beat.

Coincidence (or maybe not) that both are from the mind of Fred Perrin. Great knives, but I wish they were just a bit longer.

My other dream knife is apparently already in the works.

"Kershaw volt ss but with full flat ground m390 blade and full ti cnc milled integral framelock..........lol like that's ever gonna happen"

Well there was the original volt with the titanium framelock/g10 handles and m390 blade

I know;)

The one I'm gathering funds for is a Spyderco Szabo, since this is fantasy we'll make the blade SM-100 and the liners titanium, with wave featured, loosen up the detent, why not throw in a thrust bearing pivot, and contoured canvas micarta scales for some good grip. Maybe keep some lightning strike carbon fiber, but as bolsters. Oh, stonewash the blade and make the micarta scarlet for a little Buckeye pride.

Large Sodbuster, S30-V sheepsfoot blade with thumbstud, linerlock, black micarta scales, pocket clip for tip-up carry.

I think there was a thread like this before...

Anyway, this would be mine:

Start with Rick Hinderer XM-18 Spanto
Make the size halfway between a 3" XM and a 3.5" XM
Give it a one piece Ti like the Lionsteel TiSpine and SR-1
Make the blade out of CPM-M4, 62-64hrc
Add Wilson Combat's 'starburst' grip pattern, like is on the Star-benza

If you dont mind answering, what program do you use? That Dreadnought would be freakin' awesome! I've recently starting using Illustrator. I need photoshop though. I could make my stuff look better but this would have to do.

I think they came out okay. My Dream Snody Gravitator!

I am getting my knife done to the top configuration (3rd Knife), My ideal one would be with a Hinderer Black or CF scale to be shaped and inlaid on top of the Ti scale. Getting the blade DLC'd and engraved and getting Titanium framelocked.

I already got my clip emblem! :D

I have a picture that I made a while ago. A camo ZT 0170. Guess they could give it a fancier blade steel as well.
