I refer to Joe Talmadge's steel FAQ often because it's so informative and answers many of my questions.

I would love for some of you "old hands" in the knife field to put up a design FAQ.

For instance, what's the difference in both design and useage for a wharncliffe, spear point, sheepsfoot, spey, clip point, drop point, etc.

I think most of us here recognize the difference when looking at a picture, but what's the "practical" difference in these designs, and what would be the optimal useage for each?

Help us "newbies" out, guys!:D

Thanks,

Ben

So, I have a question, based on Joe's FAQ (which I think I read verbatim on AG Russel's site): what's the difference between a sheepsfoot and a wharnecliffe? I'm guessing that it has to do with the curve of the spine, and how pointy the tip gets.

Yes, I do often answer my own questions... I just figured I'd see if I was right.
