Design help please

Hey guys,
If got a sheet of steel at the waterjet place and one of the blanks being cut is the sword pictured. I would like to eith make or have a kydex scabard made for it when complete but I'm having a hard time figuring out how to make it functional but still hang it from my belt somewhat horizontal because I'm pretty sure the spine side of the sheath will have to be left open.
Any ideas, drawings, everything is appreciated.

Half open top (spine side) with two D rings for Baldric (bandoleer) carry. Work with leather, kydex, for anything with a large curved blade either inside or outside curve.
